Seeing the miracle of a seed turn into a delectable ingredient instills an appreciation for all that it takes to grow quality food. You don't have to have a green thumb, try a simple container garden: Cultivate few herbs or cherry tomatoes in pots on your windowsill or patio. 

Fact: one acre of land plus 1 inch of rain on that acre = 27,500 gallons of water !

Before starting garden clean up, it is a good idea to draw a map of the vegetable garden. Record the dates and locations where crops were planted  this will help with crop rotation this coming spring. I am planning already.
